Child Safety Standards
Last updated: July 6, 2026
These Child Safety Standards apply to Social, the mobile app published on Google Play and the App Store by CytSoftware ("we", "us"). They describe the rules every person using Social must follow and what we do to keep children safe on our service.
Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)
We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form, anywhere on Social. This prohibition covers, without limitation:
- Creating, uploading, sharing, requesting, or linking to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any visual depiction that sexualizes a minor;
- Grooming — contacting or befriending a minor to facilitate sexual abuse or exploitation, online or offline;
- Sextortion — threatening or blackmailing a minor using real or alleged intimate images;
- The sexualization of minors in any content, caption, comment, or reaction, including fictional, drawn, or AI-generated depictions;
- Trafficking of children or advertising a child for sexual purposes.
Any account engaging in CSAE is terminated immediately and permanently. This applies to all content and behavior on Social — photos, videos, captions, comments, reactions, group names, profiles, and private group activity.
Age requirement
Social is not directed to children under 13, and people under 13 are not permitted to create an account. If we learn that a child under 13 is using the App, we remove the account and its data.
How Social is designed with safety in mind
- Closed friend groups only. There are no public profiles, no follower system, no discovery feed, and no way to search for strangers. Content is visible only to mutually-added friends and members of your private groups.
- In-app reporting. Any post can be reported from inside the App. Reports are reviewed promptly, and content that violates these standards is removed.
- Blocking. Any user can block another user, which hides both accounts from each other entirely.
Enforcement and reporting to authorities
When we become aware of CSAE or CSAM on the service we act immediately: the content is removed, the account is permanently banned, and — where required by applicable law — we preserve the material as evidence and report it to the appropriate authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant law-enforcement or child-protection body in your jurisdiction. We comply with all applicable child safety laws.
How to report a concern
- In the App: use Report on any post, or block the user.
- By email: contact our child safety team at support@usesocial.app with the subject line "Child safety". Reports are reviewed with priority.
- Emergencies: if a child is in immediate danger, contact your local law enforcement first.
Child safety point of contact
Our designated child safety contact is the CytSoftware child safety team, reachable at support@usesocial.app. This contact can speak to our CSAE prevention practices and responds to notices from users, researchers, and authorities.
Changes
We may update these standards; we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. The most current version is always published at usesocial.app/child-safety.
